We use the comparative and superlative to compare two or more things, animals, people... ect We use the following comparative and superlative forms:
Comparative: Adjective + er + than
Superlative: the + Adjective + est
One syllable adjective:

If the one-syllable adjective ends with a single consonant with a vowel before it, we double the consonant
