ملخص الدرس / الرابعة متوسط/اللغة الإنجليزية/File 2/Expressing obligation-absence of obligation

Reminder

We use must and have to to say that it is necessary to do something or to express obligation.

Must and have to can be replaced by be obliged to

eg: They must ask for a visa to travel to Germany.

They have to ask for a visa to travel to Germany. They are obliged to ask for a visa .

To say that it was necessary to do something, we use had to

eg: Yesterday I had to pay a parking fine. or need not to

We use don't have to, do not need to say that something is not necessary.

eg: You needn't pay now, tomorrow is OK.

You don't need to pay now....

You don't have to pay now ...
