Short adjective + er + than

ex:A plane is bigger than a helicopter. 

more + long adjective + than

ex:Travelling by plane is more expensive than travelling by train.

Countable plural nouns: many / few / fewer. Uncountable nouns: much / little / less.

When he started learning English he made many mistakes.

Now he makes only few mistakes. He makes fewer mistakes than before. 

He is not rich. He hasn't got much money. He's got only little money.

Actually, he's got less money than the required minimum to live.

(not) as + adjective + (as) as many + countable plural nouns + (as) +..... as much + uncountable noun + (as) +.......

examples:

London is not as cold as Moscow in winter.

London is as interesting as Moscow to visit. 

There are as many places of interest in London as in Moscow.

People do not drink as much tea in Moscow as in London.
